Booked

Damn fine night for a bike ride. Good friends make you warm, good drinks keep you warm. Thanks for coming out to play and thanks to the good folks at Carmelo's, The Blue Line and Max and Joe's for putting up with us. See you next year.

Overturned

Our stay of execution has been denied. Be prepared, we're not making it back alive.

Last Rites...

Things are set and old man winter has granted us a stay of execution. Temps mid 20's to start, high teens to finish. Hopefully the ice will stay away today and the snow will be mimimal.

Meet at Carmelo's around six for grub.

The Hickory Hill Climb, winner take all sprint to the top, no holds barred, hands on bars, I expect it to be as dirty as Omaha's past.

How fitting

Thanks to RD for this little tid bit. If we were only in Seattle to take part.

A 2thousand9er Dirty, Wicked Tour

Last year we leapt into the 29er Trifecta with 29 miles on 29ers on the 29th. Back by popular demand is the 2thousand9er Dirty Wicked Tour. Taking you deeper into the depths of Omaha's dirty wicked underbelly. If you made it out for last years Trifecta, plan on a rougher route in spirit and exertion for year two. Fresh loops will take us through the warehouses and backroads.

All are welcome on Saturday, February 28th, for a fee. A fee of $1, and a six pack beverage of your choice to pay homage to our city's brewmasters of Metz, Storz and Falstaff. Pit stops are in place.

This years route will start in the heart of midtown. Pizza and beer from Carmelo's and Beertopia will usher in the new years route. Through the mansions of Hanscom and over to the riverfront. As we turn north you will experience the power that is Little Italy as the Hickory Hill Climb claims all with a winner take all sprint to the top (get the $1 now? Lincoln boys bring your legs, this ain't no salt flat). Next it's under the old rail yards and through the remnants of Jobber's Canyon. A beverage stop on the new school bridge before weaving through the ghostly "Cribs" of the "Burnt District". Further north on the boulevards and into Florence before the turn south and the switchbacks of Belvedere and the winding expanse of Happy Hollow. A last blast over the Col du Howard and it's back to the Crescent Moon (Max and Joe's) to sit amoungst the relics of omaha brewing history.

The fine print...
You can park (lame) in the Mutual of Omaha lot behind Carmelo's if that's your m.o. with a change of clothes for post ride drinking. The Moon has Karaoke on Satursday's so get your sing on.

Lots of flats last year so don't bring some janky pos that will break down. This is a ride, not a stand, and if you're standing, you better be drinking. Pace will be moderate but those that fall behind will be left behind (Arrrr!). Know your escape routes.

Cue Sheet, it's complicated
